Airport Director
To say that 2017 was an exciting year at Mitchell Airport is an understatement. We welcomed nearly seven million passengers; introduced service on two new airlines, Allegiant and Volaris; saw our route map reach 50 nonstop destinations; and expanded our concessions offerings.
We aim to be the premier airport in the region, offering a quick and efficient experience, connecting you with nonstop or one-stop access to hundreds of destinations around the world. MKE is the only airport in Wisconsin or Illinois with service from all the major domestic airlines, and we’re a great alternative to Chicago’s airports.
As travelers approach Mitchell Airport and see our M-K-E monument letters on the Airport Spur from I-94, they know our great customer service and unique amenities will take some of the stress out of traveling. That’s why we consistently hear from travelers that General Mitchell International Airport is their preferred airport for travel involving Milwaukee, Chicago, and beyond.

MKE loves traveling moms, and we know that sometimes nursing moms need a clean, quiet place and a bit of privacy for breastfeeding or pumping. We teamed up with Mamava to install lactation suites throughout the airport. Suites include power and USB outlets, fold-down shelf, comfortable seating and a mirror.
Located throughout the airport, MKE’s family restrooms make it easy for traveling familes with special amenities including additional space for luggage and strollers, changing tables, and child size toilets and sinks in some locations.
The MKE Meditation Room provides a quiet, tranquil location for thought, rest, reflection, prayer or meditation. Special thanks to the Meditation Room Advisory Board and Board of Directors for their hard work and dedication in raising the funds necessary for the design and construction of this new facility. The MKE Meditation Room is located in the MKE Parking Structure, providing easy access for travelers taking the moving walkway from/to Daily Parking. It is free and open 24 hours per day, to provide access for travelers to enjoy and appreciate this facility for many years to come.
If your little ones need somewhere to burn off a little steam before your next flight, head to our Children’s Play Areas located throughout the airport. Filled with aviation themed climb-ons, fun activities and views of the airfield, they are perfect for our youngest fliers.
Passengers at MKE can stay connected on the road with Boingo Wi-Fi access throughout the airport. Accessing Boingo Wi-Fi is easy. Simply set your SSID to “Boingo Hotspot” and launch your Internet Browser. The Wi-Fi Welcome Page will allow you to login using an existing Boingo account, or purchase Internet access with a variety of pricing options. The first hour is free!
